Our two weeks at Vida’s Villas in Ammouliani were just delightful. The villas are situated on a cliff top overlooking the sea with genuinely amazing views.
Having travelled with our 2 teenagers and our older daughter and her partner we booked an entire villa which consisted of a one double bedroom apartment on top and a two bedroom apartment below. The villas were clean, well appointed and with everything you could need including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, full cooker, microwave etc etc and everything worked. There was always plenty of hot water and the air conditioning was highly efficient. Both apartments had outdoor seating and views of the sea. We loved sitting out on our balcony for breakfast, to watch sunsets and to gaze at the very starry night skies.
The appeal of the villas is their peace and quiet. So not a place for those who like a lot of noise. Vida’s mother lives on site and was very helpful when we needed to visit a doctor. She took us down herself and waited to help us with translation.
The road up to the villas is very rough but our car had no trouble. Alikes Beach which lies at the bottom of the road is beautiful with soft white sand, clear water, sunbeds, umbrellas and tavernas.
Ammouliani itself is visited mostly by Greeks. We came across no other English visitors during our visit and English was not often spoken in shops/restaurants.
We felt Vida’s Villas offered us the best of both worlds with complete peace and quiet just a short drive from the buzz of the beach and the town centre. We would definitely return.

“We’re a bi-cultural family, Greek/English, living in Greece. My English wife has always had different criteria for her holidays than mine. Having lived in Greece most part of my life I was spoilt anyway. Our criteria met when we had children. Any destination had to provide the cleanest waters, the friendliest people, it had to be child friendly, but without being a kindergarten itself, the food had to be super quality, if not organic throughout, but accessible. It had to give you the feel of a Greek island, but be close to home and major infrastructures, i.e. airport, hospital, etc. We were asking for too much, it seemed, and right before disappointment was to kick in, one night, past midnight, a google search brought us to Vida’s Villas.
That was five years ago…
We found all the above to levels beyond our expectations, plus… We found a home. We found a place where for two weeks we can be ourselves, the good parents, the inspired artists, the little philosophers of everyday life. We count the stars, we meet the friends our children make on the long beach, up and down, we smell the thyme and the pines, we enjoy Vida and her wonderful family with a cup of red tea or a glass of wine. Our suitcase gets smaller and smaller year after year. We don’t need much. We have everything. And all that, under the shade of Mt Athos, and the blessings of the mysticism of one of the very few places in the world where time still stops…”

“Last summer our family spent two wonderful weeks at Vida’s Villas on the island of Ammouliani . Being in a peaceful surrounding coupled with the the natural beauty of the island made our stay quite memorable. With the villas being situated a short distance from the center atop a hill it felt like you had your own private oasis. After a day at the beach nothing beat sitting on the terrace and watching the sun go down. Vida and her family were splendid hosts and satisfied all our needs. We will most definitely come back again!”

“Well, where shall I start from?
I have been visiting Vida’s Villas for the past 2 years. I would have never thought that, less than a couple of hours drive from Thessaloniki, is this hidden paradise. I fall in love with the place from day 1.
For me VidasVillas is the perfect place in order to relax and really enjoy care-free holidays. The view is amazing and Vida is making you feel welcome and takes care of all your troubles. I absolutely love her place and I cant wait to visit over and over and over again!! I just can’t get enough! Thanks Vida!”

“We spent 10 amazing days at Vida’s Villas. I had not been to Greece in 20 years, but I knew what I was looking for. Twenty years ago, as a college student I’d had a chance to see the side of Greece that most tourists see. Returning with my family, I wanted to see the real Greece, fly into Athens and let the kids see the sights but then go someplace beautiful and secluded and quiet. We plan our vacations as a family- everyone gets a say – and everyone agreed that for our holiday in Greece we wanted someplace that would feel like it was our own – only more exotic. And that is exactly what we found. We got in late at night and the first morning was like waking up in paradise—the views are spectacular. Vida and her family are the perfect hosts, they seemed to appear at just the right times to answer a question or offer advice and then just as suddenly disappear. By the end of our stay we had become friends. We’re already talking about how soon we can come back.”

“If you are the type of person who would want to travel to new places every summer, than you must not come to Amouliani. Ever since I’ve spent my first 2 weeks at Vida’s villas with my brothers I simply find no reason why I would ever want to spend my holiday anywhere else.
After the first night spent in a camping in Amouliani, we drove up the hills to check out the views from the southern part of the island and not only found breathtaking views but also Vida, the owner of the premises, who invited us to stay for our holiday if we’d like to spend our time with such a view and the all the comfort the villas had to offer. I never risked more than that summer going to a place without any previous bookings and yet, I’ve never felt luckier to find the perfect place for a holiday. It is one of the most wonderful, calm and relaxing places I’ve ever been to and I can only recommend this place and the friendly, coddling atmosphere of the villas to anyone who is looking for the perfect way to recharge his/her batteries running low by the everyday hustle of work.
The accommodation is flawless; the buildings are equipped with anything you might need to feel homey during your stay. Outside on the terrace sitting in the warm breeze you can watch the Aegean Sea for hours wishing you could stay here forever. Or just go and swim in the crystal clear water, dive and see the vivid life of the depth as I do all the time when I’m there. There is a small village on the island if you want to dine out. Whatever you’d do on Amouliani it is going to be relaxing.
Perhaps all this sounds too good to be true. Well, go and see it for yourself, you will agree, I’m sure.”
